I had intended to write about our little post-picnic party right after it happened but for some reason I was unable to access my blog administration page which was very annoying! It seems the problem is fixed... for now.
So anyway! Most everybody that reads the Kyrgyz adoption blogs knows that all the agencies have been having their family picnics and hosting the KG officials from Washington.
CWA had theirs this past weekend and while we were dreadfully late arriving (not surprisingly), we had a blast reconnecting with families we met at the beach and meeting new families and finally meeting in person many blog friends.
Knowing that the event would not be long enough for all of us to get our talking out :) I planned an after-picnic party at Bonclarken for the Kyrgyz families. It was fabulous! OK, seriously, we were late getting it set up, and everyone had to sort of mill around for a bit and it was hard to find the location back in the labryinth that is Bonclarken... but regardless we had a blast.
Aliya and Beckett (who obviously enjoyed his food... or at least the ketchup!)
Actually I think the Bonclarken location was brilliant. The Cottage that we rented had an attached (and fenced in) playground that allowed the kids to safely play while all the adults chatted.

Ben and Beckett were in the same group at the orphanage.
It takes a reliable group of people to help pull off a smooth party and so I must thank the following people:
M- without M there would've been no party. She was supposed to attend the picnic, but opted to stay home to finish up the last minute prep so that the party would be perfect (and other than being a little late and forgetting the cheese, she was perfect!)
Martha- Miss Unsung Go-For herself! We ended up sending her all over the place to pick up last minute necessities (like another cooler).
Esther- Thanks so much for helping set up the food tables and bringing the extra churn.
Andrea- Thanks for keeping an eye on my guys (particularly Xander) when I was running around like a crazy person!!
The on-the-porch gang- Thanks for helping with the grilling and ice cream and drinks.
Everybody that attended- Thanks so much for coming and I so hope we can do it again next year!!

Xander pretty much stayed in this car the whole time! He was so disgruntled that Ben could open the door and he couldn't!
OK, it is moments like these that I desperately want a son from KG. Too
cute!!!
